As a self-taught experimental textile and mixed-media artisan, my creative journey has always been fueled by curiosity and a love for exploring diverse materials. From a young age, I was fortunate to be encouraged to create, and I embraced that freedom wholeheartedly. At just four years old, I began hand sewing doll clothing and learning to crochet, laying the foundation for a lifelong passion for craftsmanship. Throughout my life, family and friends have been my greatest supporters, nurturing my creativity and inspiring me to push artistic boundaries.
While raising my children, I had the opportunity to expand my artistic practice beyond textiles. My first significant departure from fiber arts was in the world of glass, where I created stained glass mosaics on unconventional substrates such as fiddles and guitars. Studying under artists like Laurel True and Susan Crocenzi, and drawing inspiration from Ellen Bakely and Sonia King, I immersed myself in this vibrant art form for several years.
More recently, I felt a deep pull to return to my textile roots, bringing me back to my sewing machine. This rekindled my love for fiber arts and opened new doors for combining mediums in unexpected ways. The synergy between materials excites me, and ideas constantly swirl in my mind, often keeping me awake at night. I am grateful to those who appreciate my unconventional, "out-of-the-box" creations, and I remain inspired by the endless possibilities that lie ahead in my artistic journey.
I offer a variety of crafted pieces, all singular. My crafts range from rope baskets to carefully selected greeneries, fiber art, and play with clays. The pieces are unique and out of the box purposely.
